Retail Project Portfolio

From big boxes to boutiques, large restaurants to little bistros, franchises to chains: we provide consistent results. Shopping centers also get outside attention with new façades, updated storefronts, and services such as parking lot resurfacing.

Every job has unique features beyiond "carpet and paint," so we've highlighted those features below.

White Bison Coffee opened it's first shop in the Nations utilizing a variety of finishes, including wood, stell, ceramic flooring, and hexagon tiles. Built from a shell space, CIC crafted the custom steel mezzanine over the coffee counter for additional seating.

We built a steel mezzanine at White Bison Coffee for additional seating that would eventually include comfy sofas and chairs for a more intimate setting than the open floor plan below.

Per the client's specs, we built these custom benches and the custom transaction counter at Pure Sweat + Float Spa, which was recently voted the #2 Best Day Spa in Nashville in the Tennessean's Toast of Music City awards.

When the float pods for Pure Sweat + Float spa arrived, we worked our magic to get them into some tight spaces. Note the beautiful tile work on the rear wall (click to enlarge).

Filled to the brim with merchandise, this Golf Galaxy in Cool Springs exemplifies the open ceiling and extensive wall racks typical in big box stores.

We demised a large space in this shopping center to create two spaces and then build out Plato's Closet clothing consignment store, which included this custom transaction counter.

New refrigerated shelving awaits tasty goods at a Papa Murphy's take-and-bake pizza location in White House before it opens. When their equipment arrived early, CIC helped store it until the space was ready for equipment installation.

With a few details to remaining to be installed at this point, this photo shows Papa Murphy's walk-in cooler, which was built on site by CIC's field staff. The kitchen in the back was also entirely new to the space.

Sitting on a corner in Germantown, Dabble Studio made use of existing fixtures in their new space and added special touches like the subway tile and reclaimed wood bar, stained concrete floors, and new pendant lights. Our superintendent worked with the owner to design a swinging door that could be folded flush with the counter.

Hair and nail salons pose their own challenges, often requiring additional plumbing for multiple sinks or pedicure chairs.

This is no ordinary salon: these stations are part of Remington College's Cosmetology program.

It took us pricing a couple spaces for them, but Relevé Barre Studio settled on this Franklin center. Superintendent and carpenter Johnny Bates, Jr., hand-built this wood transaction counter as well as stairs to a second level. Note the barn door to one of their studios behind the counter.

Plumbing fittings at Relevé serve as retail racks. In the rear, hand-built stairs, a protective knee wall, and a wheelchair lift lead to a second level.

This design needed to incorporate a beverage station, hi-low water fountains, restrooms/changing areas, and around that corner, a play room where Relevé provides childcare during classes.

In a space where several people simultaneously prop their weight on barres and put their faces near the floor, details count. When focusing on fitness, gorgeous lines in the finishes may go unnoticed, but that also means there are no distractions for these powerful students.
