Special Projects Portfolio

We rarely limit our work to projects of a certain size: when our clients need us, we are here to serve.

Below is a selection of special projects, such as ADA accessibility options, roll-up doors, and fencing, to allow you to see how we can create solutions outside the realm of carpet and paint. Click on any image to enlarge it.

Project Showcase: Challenges and Solutions

Before-and-after shots of one of the entrances to St. Thomas West Hospital, clad with a special material and, hiding in the middle, new sky lights. The dramatic results changed the face of the building. Be sure to check out more shots from the inside in our Office photos.

When this executive wanted a custom bookcase to show off his collection (and hide passage to a hidden room!), CIC delivered with custom wordwork by Superintendent John Bates III.

Restroom renovations generally include new partitions, automatic faucets and dispensers, and changes to flooring and wall covering. Refreshed common areas in office buildings can improve current tenant satisfaction and prospective tenant impressions of a building.

Opportunity can't knock if there isn't a door: CIC built this and many other entrances in brick and block walls where none existed. Entrances can be secured with card readers and magnetic locks set to release with internal motion sensors or when triggered by a receptionist or an alarm system.

This Gulch condo association was ready for an update: as part of a larger design with new furniture and area rugs, we painted the jut-out and installed mirrors in the wooden frame on the wall. The mirror reflects the art on the opposite wall for dramatic impact.

In the same Gulch condo lobby, metal mesh curtains were custom fabricated to fill inset spaces formerly used for marketing boards. At 16' long by 10' tall, and weighing over 600 pounds each, special blocking had to be inserted into the soffits above.

This barre studio combined two spaces in a retail center that sat on different levels. After combining the spaces, CIC crafted custom stairs and a knee wall, then installed a lift to ease access for all.

In a downtown garage, LifeWay Christian Resources needed to open walls for ventilation that had been filled with brick, but they needed to prevent unauthorized access by birds as well as people. Black fencing with additional poles to reinforce the top and bottom proved an effective and attractive solution.

A printing company needed to open up a wall in their facility to bring in a large piece of equipment. Taking advantage of the opportunity, they asked us to install a roll-up door in the opening with a ramp outside, creating access for a small forklift.

At the Brentwood Public Library, CIC built millwork for the children's art room complete with a sink accessible to small children (with some adult help, of course).
